While you’re out shopping during the holiday season, here are some health tips to keep you at your best:
Treat Holiday Shopping As An Athletic Event

  • Stay hydrated
  • Be sure to stretch before and after a long day of shopping
  • Wear shoes with plenty of cushioning in the soles
  • Make sure the clothing you wear is as comfortable as possible
  • Plan Frequent Breaks Into Your Shopping Day
  • During a day of heavy shopping, take a break every 45 minutes
  • When taking breaks, try to eat light foods
  • Shopping With Children
  • If at all possible, DO NOT bring a child or children along on a holiday shopping trip
  • Try to split "child duty" up with a spouse or another parent
